Living life on hold
Is lonely and frustrating
Not knowing what comes next
Is simply devastating
Not able to plan or play
Deconstructs the relationship
A little more each day
And we’re nearing the final rip
The last thread is hanging
And swinging in the breeze
On opportunity’s door we’re banging
Begging for a reprieve
But the damage is already done
Not sure it can be salvaged
So now we turn to rum
To forget the feelings ravaged
By the twists and turns
Of someone else’s cruel enjoyment
From a distance with no concerns
Of the impact of its deployment
For now we are not living
We’ve barely the energy to exist
And turn on each other giving
Much more pain to every twist
But regardless of what happens
Or how much we destroy each other
With all my body’s atoms
I will forever and always love ya
